Sunder bans, the massive delta of the mighty Ganga. Little had changed in Sunder bans since centuries. Living under the constant threat of poverty, people here have been easy victims of the usurious money lenders. However, on March 21, 1976 a nationalised bank arrived on the Sunder bans shores for the first time. It was a floating bank aboard a boat. This "bank for the people" gradually brought happiness and prosperity to poor folks.

This Nari Adalat is being conducted by a non government organisation "Mahila Samakhya" which works with local woman in 322 villages of Vadodara district in Gujarat.
