Master Mangesh Tukaram Mahaskar, a slum dweller from suburb of Bombay scored 96% marks and topped the state merit list. Blind brothers Ghanshyam and Vinod Asudani from Nagpur Division ranked 16th and 17th respectively in the 1988 SSC Examination. Miss. Asha Chandrakant Thete from Thane scored 76% marks. She was stricken with blood cancer. She died of her illness very recently. The film also contains interviews of these toppers, and their school teachers, head masters etc...
