Mayurakshi Dam

This film tells the story of harnessing the mighty river Mayurakshi with mostly human labour, for the benefit of the people of West Bengal. With its source in the Santhal Paraganas, the Mayurakshi River flows through Birbhum and Murshidabad in West Bengal. Canada under the Colombo Plan, has aided the construction of the dam.

Mongolia - Friendly Mongolia

A three-member team of the Films Division of the Government of India visited Mongolia during July 1986 to produce a documentary on the People's Republic of Mongolia. This film presents the progress and development achieved by the working people of Mongolia. For centuries, Mongolia was oppressed by the feudal lords and the Manchamian conquerors. Sukhebator, the founder of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party led a popular people's revolution. On July 11, 1921 Mongolia was liberated.

Legal Aid

Free legal aid to the weaker sections of society is enshrined in the Directive Principles of the Indian Constitution. As Justice Bhagwati says, "Every person whose income is less than Rs. 5000 per year is entitled to free legal aid from a panel of lawyers appointed by each Legal Aid Committee." This film presents some cases of individuals helped by this service.

Koi Bhi Ho

The film deals with a message of family planning that a daughter is as good as son. A family in India is considered to be incomplete without a ‘Male’ child. Through the example of Actress Mala Sinha, the film attempts to break this notion of society and emphasizes on capabilities of a girl child who grows up to take equal responsibilities as men.

Janata College

The film depicts how the Janata College scheme attempts to equip our sons of soil with an all-round education and to foster new attitudes in life, useful for the new social order.

A Village Called Dhani

The film depicting a true story of a Harijan village called Dhani near Farrukh Nagar in Haryana. The Dhani inhabitants through their determination and hard work turned the most barren land around into a green, productive expanse. Helped by the officers of the Small Farmers Development Agency, the Dhani folks learnt the new and economical techniques of agriculture. They could infuse their lives with new optimism.

Thirty Fifth All India Police Games - 1986

A film recording various events that took place during the game shield at the different stadia in New Delhi during the 35th All India Police Games. At the closing ceremony, the contingents of all Central and State Police Organisations received prizes from Arun Nehru, Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

We Have Promises To Keep

On 26th of June, 1975 the state of emergency was declared by the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. This film collects reactions of cross-section of people about changes brought about by the Emergency for their benefit. The film also includes an interview with the Prime Minister.

Warabandi

The film shows how distribution of water has been regularised in northern part of the country. Such regularisation has helped farmers in getting adequate quantity of water at right time; which in turn has stopped quarrels for water occurring frequently before.

Vicious Enemy

`Vicious Enemy' is a two-reeler documentary dealing with the scourge of venereal diseases. Designed to educate the layman, this film conveys its moral through the story of a man who falls a helpless prey to the disease but rescues himself finally with the help of available clinical advice.
