  • In Jammu & Kashmir, a foreign tourist skier was killed after a snow avalanche struck Affarwat peak near 2nd phase of Gondola cable car project in famous tourist resort Gulmarg of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today. A senior police official told AIR that the incident occurred when two foreign tourists were skiing on snow slopes in the area.

  • The Border Security Force (BSF) today said, security forces have been giving a befitting reply to every misadventure from Pakistan at the International Border and the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to reporters in Jammu today, BSF Director General KK Sharma said, the situation along the LoC and International Border is considerably tense due to ceasefire violations by Pakistan, but the Indian forces are prepared enough to meet any challenge.

  • Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh has announced a 350 million dollar Solar Development Fund by the government for Solar Projects Financing. Delivering the keynote address at a two-day International Solar Alliance (ISA) Forum in Abu Dhabi, Mr Singh said, India has one of the fastest growing Renewable Energy programmes in the world and would achieve 175 Gigawatt target of installed Renewable Energy capacity well before 2020.
